Kapellenrundweg Berkoth - Route 2
Berkoth
The Berkoth chapel trail connects the places of worship in Berkoth, Burscheid, Oberpierscheid, Krautscheid and Uppershausen over a distance of around 17 km and is marked with signposts and leads through the charming landscape of the southern Eifel. The hike starts and ends in Berkoth, but can also be started at any of the other places mentioned.
Recommended route:
Start in Berkoth: The starting point is the chapel in Berkoth. From here, follow the signs to Burscheid.
Burscheid: After about 3 km you reach the chapel in Burscheid. The path continues through open fields and small wooded areas.
Oberpierscheid: After a further 3.5 km, you reach Oberpierscheid. The route runs mainly on asphalt paths with short sections of natural path.
Krautscheid: From Oberpierscheid, the route continues for around 4 km to Krautscheid. Here it is worth taking a short break at the chapel.
Uppershausen: The next stage leads approx. 3.5 km to Uppershausen, where there is also a chapel worth seeing.
Return to Berkoth: The last stage (around 3 km) leads back to the starting point in Berkoth.
The tour is varied, with asphalt, natural paths and short sections of path. Overall, the route is classified as "difficult", which is mainly due to its length and the altitude difference to be covered.
