Waxweiler - Buchholz Weg
Waxweiler
The hike on the Buchholz Trail starts centrally at the Haus des Gastes in Waxweiler. After just a few meters, the multi-generational square invites you to take a short break. The path soon meanders along the idyllic Prüm - the gently babbling river accompanies you as far as the Eifel camping park.
At this point, follow the course of the river to the local sports field. Here you cross the Prüm and then enter the quiet, varied "Buchholz" forest area. Beautiful, natural forest paths and narrow trails allow you to enjoy the tranquillity of the forest and you may hear birdsong or rustling in the undergrowth along the way.
After a while, you will cross the Mühlbach stream, which is lined with beautiful banks. The way back leads you onto the well-maintained cycle path, which opens up a new perspective on the surroundings. A special highlight is the crossing of the old railroad bridge: from there, you can once again look out over the Prümtal valley before returning to the village and your starting point at the Haus des Gastes.
