The hiking week South Eifel takes place from 29.09. - 04.10.2026. The tourist information offices offer five guided hikes and a hiking marathon to extensively explore the region.


On September 30, we ’ll explore the landscape around Waxweiler, a town in the Prüm Valley, in the Islek vacation region.

Discover the untamed Islek on a shortened section of the Devon Trail near Waxweiler. The wild and romantic landscape—with rugged cliffs, deeply carved river valleys, and magnificent panoramic views, including those from the Mariensäule—awaits you. Along the Prüm River, varied trails wind through forests and meadows. Here, you can experience the Earth’s history, dating back some 400 million years. Afterward, the Heilhauser Mühle country inn invites you to stop for a bite to eat.
